About Me

My approach to coaching has been shaped by what my years of teaching aikido have taught me about how people can learn, grow, and transform through practice.

I hold the rank of sandan (third degree black belt) in aikido. I teach at the Aikido Shusekai dojo in Berkeley, where I am founder of the Aiki Kids program.

I hold a degree in Philosophy from University of California, Berkeley. My favorite subject was logic, because it felt like a treasure hunt.

Back in my 20s I was a freelance marketing consultant for psychotherapists and other small business owners. I’ve designed post-graduate continuing education courses for mental health professionals. I spent several years working in the field of early childcare, getting hands-on lessons about the wonderful intricacies of human development and the art of holding space for little ones.
